Slept in to avoid the effects of too much wine last night. It was a beautiful sunny day and relatively warm (I'd guess upper 60's). So I got to maintain my Christmas tradition and go to the beach. I spent the afternoon reading and listening to my Christmas presents to myself (Paul Simon's Songs from the Capeman, and Green Day's Nimrod - Gotta love variety).
Called home, which really left me feeling a bit home sick.
Went to the diner at the hostel. Nice food, good wine (!), and good company.
Somehow around 3am I ended up hanging out with some local women and we ended up going to a disco. I can't even imagine going to a disco on Christmas night in the US, but not only was it open, it was packed. Had a great time (although I don't know when, if ever, I've heard Born in the USA in a disco), and got home at about 7am. Definitely not your traditional Christmas, but a lot better than I had feared.
