First dive in almost exactly a year (since Dahab, Egypt). It went smoothly and felt even better. We were told to be at the beach at seven thirty and we were, but it felt like everyone was waiting on us. The first dive was at Five Mile Reef. Saw some dolphins on the way out but they didn't want to play and disappeared minutes after we jumped in with them. At the dive site visibility was about 30 feet. We saw a couple big moray eels, tons of clownfish and other bright things in the coral. It was a fine dive, but I was still disappointed. I've been hearing how this is supposed to be one of the top three dive sites in the world and I didn't think it came even close to the Red Sea at Dahab. There weren't that many fish and sadly a lot of the coral was dead. It might be that it's just been over dived.
The second dive was a drift dive out at Two Mile Reef. The visibility went from poor (15 feet) to worse (6-7 feet). There was also a lot of waves on the surface, so given the shallow depth of the dive there was a lot of surge. Anton's, where the dive started, looked like it would be a great spot with good conditions. Not quite as much dead coral for one.
Hung out and rested at the lodge - it's amazing how much diving takes out of you. Had another great diner. The to bed looking forward to more diving tomorrow!
