Stacy spent the morning working on dive equipment for the hotel (our room had been comped because of this). I helped when I could (mostly loosening things) and read. Sue came by later and we all went to the 4th of July picnic put on by the embasy at Misko. We were running pretty late and the weather turned bad just as we got there - very strong winds and driving rain. It was kind of sad and sorry, but also kind of funny and maybe even a little inspirational. There were a couple awnings that were being held down by people hanging on to them, most people were hudled in the one real structure, everyone was drenched. But most people seemed to be in good spirits and seemed determined to have a good time - the power of free beer. One disappointemnt was that there were no fireworks, I really felt like I deserved to see something blown up. On the plus side I talked with the US ambassadore for at least half an hour - amazing that he was so approachable.

When they cut off the free Bud around five we gave up on the picnic. Stacy and I decided to stay in town and went to a impromptu party at Tim's house (invited by his guest - he didn't know as he wasn't at the picnic - Aussie). Drank a few more beers, hung out and had an incredible feast of sashimi - yellow fin that Tim and a couple of his guests had caught the day before.
