Travel Statement

- Currently I'm no longer traveling. But, I've gotten married and my wife is also infected with the travel bug, so I don't expect this to last!
- In the past I've done quite a bit of extended travel. You can find my online journals (really Blogs, but from the days before blogs)
here.
- The documented travels include:
- The U.S. From April 11, 1997 through September 8th, 1997
My tours of the US, with slight detours into Canada and
Mexico.
- The World Started on September 8th, 1997 and
continued until July, 2001. Four and a half years, five continents, 75 countries, and almost 5,000 beers.
- Micronesia (again) June through August 2002. Covers how I recovered my girlfriend (now my wife) and
lost my appendix while traveling through the Central Pacific.
- (The fourth photo above is me sitting on the top of the Monestary in Petra, Jordan.)

Hiking
Camping

Sometimes a day hike isn't enough. Or sometimes I feel as if I
deserve a special treat. Then it's time to go camping. First off
if it's in a car it's not camping, if there's a picnic table it's
not camping. Camping is with a backpack. On a trail. Someplace a
long way from humanity in general. My two favorite places to go
back-packing are The Subway in Zion national park,
Utah; and Paradise in Mt. Rainier national park,
Washington. The first picture (above) is me at Camp Muir on Mt.
Rainier, September 1994.
